CURA COLLECTION

Emotional design through material, silence and pause.

Cura is a two-piece furniture collection exploring the emotional potential of everyday objects. Designed as a quiet companion to daily life, each piece invites pause, reflection, and gentle interaction.

.
.
.
Rooted in the idea that design should do more than solve problems, Cura explores how objects can comfort, connect, and calm us. It uses soft geometry, warm wood, and tactile surfaces to create pieces that are present without demanding attention.

.
.
.
Both pieces are made using walnut and oak, contrasting rich tones and grain to highlight warmth and honesty in material.
.
.
.
Crafted from walnut and oak hardwood, each piece is finished with Odie’s Super Duper Oil — an organic, non-toxic finish that enhances the natural feel and provides long-lasting durability.
Subtle shadow gaps and precise joinery are used as a quiet design language, reflecting an approach inspired by slowness, simplicity, and emotional durability.
The collection is designed to age beautifully and remain meaningful over time.

Cura is a personal statement about what I believe design should be: thoughtful, quiet, and emotionally resonant — something that grows with the person who lives with it.

OF CORK IT IS!

Modular objects for everyday rituals and flexible living.

This project was developed for the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Newcastle, responding to a brief focused on tactility, multifunctionality, and creative interaction. The result is a small collection of cork-based objects designed for everyday use.
.
.
.
The collection includes three modular forms:
– A phone stand that holds your device upright in multiple orientations, made in cork with ash or walnut detail depending on the customisation
– A tray for keys, tools, or daily essentials
– A vertical vessel ideal for pens, brushes, or whatever you choose
Each piece is carved from dense natural cork and designed to encourage open interpretation. The material’s warmth and softness invite touch, repositioning, and playful adaptation in everyday routines.
.
.
.
Crafted from natural cork, with accents in ash or walnut (on the phone stands), and finished with Odie’s Super Duper Oil — an organic, non-toxic oil that enhances texture and ensures durability — these objects combine lightness with resilience. Their quiet presence and neutral tone allow them to fit into a variety of domestic spaces.
.
.
.
This project explores how small, open-ended objects can support rituals of care, flexibility, and calm, while remaining playful and intuitive to use.
